Paying respect to Shannon Humphrey, owner/operator of Applied Tactics. Taught a four hour combat pistol course for my guys today. You won’t get better instruction than that if you need a pistol course, and I’m sure the rifle courses are even better. After wearing the badge for 22 years I have a bad habit of walking into a course like that kind of thinking, I’ve done this before. But I learned several things today and heard things from a point of view that I had never thought of. Relevant and realistic are the words here. A HUGE shout-out to Shannon Humphrey of Applied Tactics. We spent a few hours this afternoon learning and shooting with him. We aren’t new to shooting but wow, he’s good guys. Interested or new to shooting, or an old pro you can learn a thing or two (or a dozen) from Shannon. He has a unbelievable amount of experience from the military, police force and hobby sport. He calls himself a gun nerd (I’d have to agree, ya nerd). It was a no pressure, educational experience ending in multiple bullseye shots on both Jabin and my part. Going into classes like this, even knowing Shannon for years, I get nervous. Within minutes learning quick on how to correct my accuracy, nerves were gone. I’m left handed but right eye dominant and that can be a challenge, nope, not today!
